This would be a great little camper for a single person like me, or a couple. It’s like enough to tow behind my VW EV. Unfortunately if they came to the US, they would probably cost twice as much

Cameron, this is an excellent video which brought back memories that I can relate to. I'm probably of a similar age group to your parents and have fond memories of caravanning in the 1960's and 70's. The Sprite 400 reminded me of our 1962 Bluebird Rambler, it was exactly the same layout as your Sprite. My parents bought the Bluebird in 1962 as ex-display for £200 and firstly we had to get road lights fitted as the caravan came without road lights. My Dad firstly towed it with a 1956 Austin A40 Cambridge, then a 1962 Austin A40 Farina and lastly with a 1968 Renault 10. We then moved on to an Ace Courier in 1974 which Dad towed through the 70's with his Simca 1301. I learned to drive on the Simca 1301 and after passing my driving test couldn't wait to get a chance of towing the caravan. Seeing photos of your Grandad's Simca certainly brought back more memories. I had a lump in my throat seeing your Grandmother looking over the Sprite as it brought back memories of showing my Mum the brand new 2011 Elddis Avante that I bought the year before she passed away. Keep up the good work with your classic caravans and reports on new caravans.

I imported some marble statues through Felixstowe about fifteen years ago, and after a lot of agro and fee paying, including the VAT, I was presented with an invoice, which was a "VAT paying fee"... I thought I hadn't even got used to collecting tax for the government for free, but now I have to pay to collect tax for them.. Are you still charged to pay the VAT nowadays?

I enjoyed this review and actually took a look at this van last weekend in Leeds as a tab 400 was on my shortlist for our first ‘van (couple with a large dog), however, it was quite a bit smaller inside than I expected, so back to square one and may have to go down the much less funky “white box” route with a Coachman 460 VIP 😂

Caravans like that don't do well in Australia we design and make our own more superior than that so they handle our outback that caravan is $ 6000 to pricey 👎🤔

I'm in the market but have two young children 5yr old and 5 months old, any space for bunk beds 😂

the walls look quite thin, I wonder if this can be used in winter without being too cold?

Heart set on carlight but then view your puku 4 video swayed me a bit.. Then I seeing the promo picture of the springbok towed by the Jag, funny enough is what I own, Jaguar 420G, looks a very nice combo. 🤔. Cat wait to see next installment

Love the base camp range. But no gas is a deal breaker. I don’t use hook ups.

Be brave and forget OLD FASHIONED GAS - Stick a large flexi Solar panel on the roof. Lithium Battery inverter and charger - Induction plate for cooking. A fitted 14" TV with peranently fitted stub antenna would also be a good option, for after the cooking is done.. Note that this is a tiny van and the build up of gas "by products" will be sufficient to do real harm. Using gas in a van like this calls for a very efficient and large extractor, not practical for this van. I would design in a longways bed, alll be it narrower. Keep the crossway bed useable, but find the kit within to go longways. Also consider Eriba Pucks even had full length beds with pull up ends and also Exterior Table Rail. It is a cute little van but sadly I have "pulled it to pieces a bit" - Mark my words it needs total comfort to make it sell.

Absolutely beautiful caravans.about the wardrobe if you're holidaying in a camping ground with communal showers etc hang your clothes in the washroom in the caravan should be easy to set that up and when using it for that there would be plenty of room

Just stumbled across your channel yesterday. You are doing a fantastic job keeping the old caravans alive. I've caravanned most of my life. Keep up the good work. I wish I could get involved with a project like yours and tow it with an older classic car.

Should turn out to be a great series to see what you do with it to retain that classic look and feel and at the same time build-in sufficient strength to make it safely usable... especially that sky-light... I say this the night before I'm picking up my new 2 tonne caravan 🙂

I wonder if it is worth while exploring fibre glass boat molds? Looking at how to create a silicone form, which then enables a fibre glass build? It all looks terribly butch and hard work. xx

Growing up in the 70's we caravanned with my parents. The 'posh' caravan of the day was a Windrush. My parents never climbed to those levels but my dad always wanted a brand new caravan so opted for a Piper, it was brown and white, pretty basic but brand new and his pride and joy! Now all grown up and almost 60 my husband and me own a lovely, albeit second hand, Swift Eccles with all the mod cons and we love it. That being said the nostalgia of your vintage caravan makeovers brings back so many childhood memories for me. Loving your channel which is just that bit different.😊

My parents had a Sprite Musketeer of a similar age. The wardrobe door was a double skin that you could fold out create a wooden petition between the front berths and the kitchen and rear berths. The interior was solid wood and the original matresses had interior springs. All heavy stuff that the Hillman Minx didn't enjoy towing too far.

I had a Cheltenham many years ago , I loved it , it towed very well , easy to reverse . Still like them , good luck with this great van .

That Liberty without the oven plus removal of wet room/replace with more kitchen area would be the perfect caravan for me… we always go to nice sites with good toilet and shower facilities and would never use those in the caravan

Why are they waiting?!! BaseCamp with no gas and with air con is a no brainer! I’m looking at buying a BaseCamp and will wait for this to come to market as electric hook up with air con means I can confidently head south in Europe which I can’t do with current BaseCamp..

The word you pronounced as "fas.....kia" is pronounce "Faysha" the c being silent .

I’m sure you could create a mould to make your own new fibreglass roof light or fibreglass expert could do it ☺
